Winter Concert

Are winter concert is just around the corner! Please join us on Tuesday, December 4, at 7:00 PM in the Alpharetta High School auditorium. We have put together a great variety of traditional and holiday music.

We will be serving dinner to students starting at 5:30 PM. Any student switching to eat pizza and salad, should RSVP using this form:

Students should arrive at 6:15 PM if they are not eating dinner.

Concert Cafe

Parents – please be on the lookout for a separate email regarding our “Concert Cafe” at the Winter Concert. We will be taking donations and will need some volunteers to help.

Midwest Preview Concert

The Alpharetta High School symphony Strings will be performing a Midwest clinic preview concert on Tuesday, December 11 at 7:00 PM. I’ll orchestra students are required to attend. Come hear the wonderful music that the Symphony Strings has been working on and will showcase to a very large audience in Chicago the following week.

Fulton County Honor Orchestra

Congratulations to the students to participate in the Fulton County honors orchestra! You represented Alpharetta and such an exemplary way.

KSU Invitational

I’m so proud of the orchestra’s performances at the KSU Invitational earlier this month. I hope it was a positive experience for the students. Each of the orchestras received extremely positive feedback from our adjudicators!

Final Exam

The orchestra final exam will be a 100 question multiple choice test that will cover orchestra terminology and vocabulary, music theory, and string technique. We will be reviewing a study guide for the exam starting next week.

  • Tuesday, December 18 – periods 1 &2
  • Wednesday, December 19 – periods 3 & 4
  • Thursday, December 20 – period 5 & 6

Full Symphony

The last meeting of this semester will be on Tuesday, December 4 (concert day) during 4th period in the auditorium.

KSU Orchestra Invitational Final Reminder

This message is intended for all orchestra members, except Concert Orchestra.

Our trip to KSU is almost here!  The students have been working very hard and will have a great experience at KSU tomorrow. I know we will receive some excellent feedback that will help shape our future performances.  The students will also get to support each other, and listen to orchestras from other 官方app彩票下载安装s.

Permission Forms & Lunch Money

All permission forms have been turned in, however if you have not paid for your lunch, please bring $9 or a check payable to AHSOA and deposit it into the box in the orchestra room.  Alternatively, you can pay for your lunch online at http://www./paypal/

Our Itinerary

KSU Orchestra Invitational – Friday, November 2, 2018
8:10 AM – Leave AHS for Kennesaw State University (arrive dressed in uniform)
9:30 AM – Philharmonia warm-up
10:15 AM – Philharmonia performance
11:00 AM – Sinfonia warm up
11:45 PM – Sinfonia performance
12:45 PM – Lunch at KSU dining facility, “The Commons” & Campus Tour
2:00 PM – KSU Symphony Orchestra’s Performance
2:45 PM – Symphony warm-up
3:30 PM – Symphony performance
4:30 PM – Leave KSU for AHS
5:45 PM – Arrive back at AHS

It is important that students have rides waiting at AHS on Friday evening. Our arrival time may change, and students will text parents once we know our actual ETA.

Should you wish to pick up your child from KSU, I must have permission in writing and must see you leave with your child when you leave campus.

Reminders:

  • Students should arrive to AHS tomorrow morning already dressed in their uniform.  (There are no changing facilities on KSU campus)
  • Busses will leave at 8:10 AM, so please arrive to 官方app彩票下载安装 before 8 AM.
  • Students must bring:Uniform, Instrument, bow, accessories, Sheet Music folder
  • It is recommended for girls to bring a sweater to wear in the hall when not performing as it gets a bit chilly.
  • Students need to be on their best behavior at all times as to best represent the orchestra program, AHS, and Fulton County.
